Canberra Police Community Youth Club Ltd and Insight Holdings Consolidated Pty Ltd are committed to respecting and safeguarding your privacy.
This policy applies specifically to personal information collected and used in connection with the Sunshine Lottery, including the sale of entries, prize draws, fundraising, supporter communications and marketing.
The Sunshine Lottery is conducted by Canberra PCYC to benefit Canberra PCYC, Tasmania PCYC and Queensland PCYC.

This policy applies to fundraising, telemarketing, events, supporter management and related activities conducted for Canberra PCYC and the Sunshine Lottery.

- administer Sunshine Lottery entries and prize draws;
- process payments and ongoing VIP support;

- operate the Sunshine Lottery website;
- communicate with supporters;
- recruit new supporters; and
- improve supporter experience and services.
Electronic charitable marketing communications are managed in accordance with applicable Australian law.

- telephone enquiries and lottery sales;

- appeal letters and response forms;

Telephone calls may be recorded where appropriate notification is provided.
Canberra PCYC may also contact people using publicly available information, such as directory information, or information supplied by data providers.

- postal address;
- payment information;
- supporter preferences; and
- information relevant to improving your supporter experience.
We do not seek to collect information about health, political opinions, religion, ethnicity or other sensitive information.
If sensitive information is collected incidentally, it is handled in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles and is not used for discriminatory purposes.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use collected information to maintain supporter records, conduct fundraising, administer the Sunshine Lottery and communicate with existing and prospective supporters.
We may use service providers including:
- mailing service providers;
- telemarketing providers;
- banking and payment service providers;
- technology providers; and
- other suppliers assisting with fundraising activities.
These providers are required to handle personal information appropriately and in accordance with applicable privacy laws.
Personal information may be disclosed to third parties where you have given express or implied consent.
5. Insight and the Sunshine Lottery
Insight Holdings Consolidated Pty Ltd is a contracted service provider to Canberra PCYC and is responsible for conducting the Sunshine Lottery.
Insight's responsibilities may include:
- conducting the lottery;
- processing and banking Sunshine VIP support;
- providing customer service;
- operating the lottery website; and
- recruiting new supporters.
For these purposes, supporter contact information may be provided to Insight.
6. Marketing Communications
We may send marketing material where you have consented, where the communication relates to the purpose for which you supplied your information, or where you are provided with an opportunity to opt out of future communications.
You may ask us at any time to stop contacting you, or to change the frequency or type of communications you receive.
7. Information Security
We take reasonable measures to keep personal information secure, accurate and up to date.
Information may be stored electronically on secured servers and, where appropriate, encrypted during transmission or storage.
Contracted suppliers are expected to maintain appropriate security protections, including firewall, network, antivirus and interception safeguards.
8. Retention and Disposal of Information
We do not retain personal information that is no longer required or in use for fundraising purposes.
Records, files, correspondence and payment information are disposed of securely when no longer required.
Suppliers are also required to delete information from their systems as soon as reasonably possible after completing relevant work.
Some financial, supporter and transaction records must be retained to satisfy charity, taxation, lottery regulation and other legal requirements.
9. Advertising, Cookies and Remarketing
We may use advertising services such as Google Ads Remarketing and Facebook Remarketing.
These services may place cookies in your browser so that advertising can be displayed based on pages you have viewed.
These cookies do not directly identify you or provide access to your computer or mobile device.
You may manage or opt out of certain advertising cookies using the privacy and advertising settings offered by relevant advertising providers.
10. Overseas Processing
Some service providers may process personal information outside Australia.
Where this occurs, service providers are required to operate under arrangements providing standards intended to be at least equivalent to those applying in Australia.
